Houve uma época em que figuras históricas, rostos e emoções só podiam ser imortalizadas na pintura e na escultura. Agora, embora estas artes ainda sejam importantes, a fotografia substituiu o testemunho histórico e a representação de grandes protagonistas.

Com isto em mente, o artista e revelador americano Nathan Shipley imaginou e criou fotografias baseadas em pinturas de pessoas que marcaram a nossa história. Usando inteligência artificial, produz retratos robóticos realistas e perturbadores.

Com estas fotografias, Shipley convida-nos a imaginar como William Shakespeare, Maria Antonieta ou os Tudors poderiam ter sido se tivessem vivido no nosso tempo. É a sua vez de adivinhar a quem pertence cada retrato:
